In the summer of 2019, we packed our survival gears in backpacks and set out to explore the Kungsleden trail in the vastness of Swedish Lapland. By we, I mean me, my husband D and our friend H. While living in Finland for the past few years, D and I have come close to nature and its untouched wilderness. As a result, we have taken up hiking as a serious interest. After hiking across the Finnish Lapland along the trails of Oulanka National Park, Urho Kekkonen National Park and being simply awestruck by the purity and bliss of it, we started to widen our gaze on the Swedish Lapland. Hence the name of the grand Kungsleden came up in a discussion with our regular hiking mate H.
